I am not political but am an engineer so the plane and it’s flight maybe seen from a fringe comment only. There were other experimental planes and flights. The only successful one is Nawaz Sharif and to a lesser extent the Bhutto group. They were first to take on the piloting with an Eject button with a Pause button and the establishment just tossing and turning. Today they are at the controls. IK may still be there. Who knows. He has raised the Hydra perhaps. Harry Potter is around the corner too. The entire society is visible, starkly visible. The next one to come along will do something unimaginable. The Aeroflot will take off but more linked to AI and the balance will be tipped. Perhaps there will be 4-5 Utopias. Reengineering
Pakistan is not just a failed state, but a failed experiment. In the words of Shashi Tharoor: Most countries have armies; in Pakistan, the army has a country.
As in the civilized West and in India, the services chiefs report to the Defense Secretary or the Defense Minister; in Pakistan the Prime Minister and many in the judiciary, report to the army chief or the intelligence chief. The country's a 'global joke' as stated by veteran diplomat Ashraf Qazi in his op-ed in the DAWN.
Instead of a life of peace and comfort and joy, with his wife and kids, in London's upper crust society, he chose to enter politics in Pakistan; a cesspool swarming with the most venomous creatures on the planet.
Poor judge of human character.
Didn't he know about the sort of lowlife scumbags who enter politics in this shithole country?
If he really was interested in politics, he could have easily made it in England.
Pakistan is one of THE worst countries in the world, ranked even below Somalia, in the passport ranking.
There's no love lost between the different ethnicities and there's a very real prospect of balkanization, starting, my guess is, with GB, bordering China.
I don't know what the international players have as a game plan for Pakistan.
Or, even if there is a game plan. Let's face it, Pakistan isn't that much on anyone's radar anymore, after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Maybe one reason for the silence.
Never has Pakistan or maybe the world witnessed, the kind of fascism, the police state scenes, being played out in Pakistan. Where a country's army chief is single handedly decimating the most popular political party in the country, by literally physically assaulting, beating, torturing every single member and supporter of that party. Using brute force against men, irrespective of age, and against women and children. Destroying their homes and businesses.
Thrashing their wives and kids. Threatening rape of their wives and daughters.
Abducting and torturing every single reporter or journalist who speaks in favor of the party.
And, in one case, assassinating a journalist who was investigating the corruption of a family allied to the army.
Silencing all kinds of dissent. Banning social media, like YouTube and Twitter. Directing every single news channel to only voice the official propaganda.
Using secretly recorded audios and videos to blackmail party members, judges and almost anyone who sympathizes with the party.
Registration of hundreds of cases (FIRs) against every single member of the party, reporters, journalists, TV anchors and lawyers. Jailing them in the most inhumane conditions. Subjecting them to blackmail and torture.
Threatening all those overseas Pakistanis who speak out against the atrocities, with cancellation of their OHÌP cards; arrest on arrival; prison time and placing their names on the no fly, exit control list.
Which army in the civilized world is engaged in any of the above?
They were just 'duffers' to Asma Jehangir. I think they are much much worse. How about ' satanic and evil' and jokers to boot. Demanding respect after a series of unimaginable crimes against humanity. Almost like Hitler demanding respect from the Jews.
It has to be one of the most rare and bizarre phenomenon in modern times; in the 21st century, where one man, among 230 million people, is not accountable to anyone and has such unbridled power to unleash the kind of barbarity and can use the kind of brute force.
Is there anyone in the world, who can stop this, obviously insane man? The judiciary is either complicit or powerless. And, it's quite clear that the champions of democracy have given their blessings.
Students of history, who often wondered how such few British administrators were able to rule over millions of people; now we know.
In fact I'd give Asim Munir, a summa cum laude grade, because he accomplished his supremacy in the age of the TV and internet. He is judge, jury and executioner.
While all this barbarity is taking place, food insecurity has reached dangerous levels and the dollar is headed for 500.
There was a judge in Peshawar who had sentenced Musharraf to death, for abrogation of the constitution, and he had added, in his judgment, that should Musharraf pass away before the execution, his body should be dragged and hung, at a public square in front of the parliament building in Islamabad.
Unfortunately the judge never got his wish and passed away even before Musharraf.
Just curious, as to what kind of a verdict, he would have suggested for our current despot, who makes Musharraf look more, a wimp than a dictator.
I wrote this comment many times before. He is a narcissistic egomaniac with his brain in his balIs. I mean cricket balls. But thise who hero worshipped him as a cricket hero and expected him to be our political Messiah were bigger idiots.
Eloquently put. Khan lack understanding of deep Pakistani politics, his best advisers are the agency men, now leaving him & the party on its insistence. Golden opportunity lost for Pakistani to make a comeback on global & economic scene.

You have to question IKs sanity.

Look, you are spewing poison against Pakistan. Don't you think the establishment is too strong in many other countries, even in America?

Very true. Imran Khan Basically was impatient for power and ultimately lost in gamble.
